Clairemont San Diego is a community within the City of San Diego. It is one of the first sub urban developments in San Diego City and is about 13 square miles. Also known as Clairemont Mesa, this neighborhood has enough attractions that could entertain locals and visitors.
The City of San Diego’s official website has described Clairemont San Diego, including the history of the neighborhood. It also mentioned several landmarks within the community.
“Clairemont Mesa is one of the first post-World War II suburban developments in the City of San Diego, with many of its homes built in the 1950s and 1960s. The area is largely defined by its prominent topography. Developed areas of Clairemont Mesa sit primarily atop mesas punctuated by several major canyon systems, with San Clemente Canyon to the north and Tecolote Canyon weaving through the center of the community.”

History of Clairemont
WikiPedia meanwhile came up with a brief history of the neighborhood. In their writeup, they mentioned that the first inhabitants of Clairemont are Native Americans.
“The Kumeyaay Indians came to the canyon area within Clairemont centuries ago in search of food and shelter. It was given the name Tecolote (meaning owl), after this native bird that lives in this canyon. Judge Hyde was one of the first settlers of Clairemont and began farming in Tecolote Canyon back in 1872. Farming and ranching continued in the area until World War II.
In 1887 the Morena Subdivision was mapped.”
