When looking for a place that can transport the kids back to the olden days, then look no further than the Old Poway Park. With its exciting attractions that bring out old world charm, Old Poway Park will definitely not disappoint history lovers. The Old Poway Park is located along Midland Road.
In its official website, the City government of Poway has described the many attractions that can be seen in the park. They likewise mentioned that there is a regular farmers’ market in the area that features organic produce.
“Stroll along the meandering pathways or enjoy a peaceful picnic in our beautiful park. Weekends offer the opportunity to take a ride around the park on the Poway Midland Railroad. Visitors can also tour the Heritage Museum to learn about Poway’s unique history and explore the Nelson House to witness what life was like in early 20th century California. “

Family website Red Tricycle also mentioned the many activities that can be enjoyed when touring Old Poway Park. One of their recommended family activities is riding the train.
“Step back in time and take a vintage train ride on the Poway-Midland Railroad. The full-size, narrow-gauge railroad carries passengers aboard vintage and antique railroad equipment, and it’s run entirely by volunteers dressed in authentic railroad attire. The train operates on Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 3:45 p.m., and Sundays, 11 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. In order to avoid any disappointment, be sure to check the train schedule prior to arriving to ensure it is not a Quiet Sunday.”

“Old Poway Park is a great place to picnic. You can pack a lunch and enjoy the afternoon on the grass, or at one of the picnic tables. If you like to barbeque, they have barbeques available for use. If you’d rather buy lunch or dinner, The Hamburger Factory, located within the park, has delicious food in a fun atmosphere. Sometimes we go there just for the dessert!”
